New map rotation.

I think the time has come for a new map rotation. In my opinion the current map rotation has become boring and we're up for something new. (It might also be a good idea to install RTV onto the server so that we can vote for maps ourself.)

I agree.

RTV would be good, as I remember the server was alot better with default voting system activated.

I don't see why it has just been put on such a vanilla rotation, this is one of the few FA servers and fewer still often populated.

The server was nice when people could vote, but it was abused to the extent where people sometimes changed the map when a new one was just voted in, before barely had loaded up. That and sometimes even when there was a majority, people didn't want to change the map anyways.

I favour a new rotation, screw being able to call votes.

RTV is a fair voting system that can be activated 10 minutes after the map has changed. Before you can vote however, You sort of have to vote for a new map vote. ( Razz )

Yeh if RTV was brought in, it should be alright, especially as you said there's 10 min no-vote block - if I understood correctly. It's always been handy on CSS.

But I was mainly referring to BB's comment about how the server was decent when people could vote freely lol.

Is there any system where once the map has been changed, the next map is automatically the next one in rotation?

Before the voting for the new map begins, players can suggest maps to be in the next map vote. This is done by nominating their prefered map. (e.g nominate!cmp_doomgiver) If 5 maps are nominated those maps will be the 5 maps you can vote for when the vote begins. If there are less than 5 maps suggested the maps will be randomly picked.

Players have 3 minutes to vote for the next map and if all players have voted for the map they want the map changes immediately. This is an example of the voting:

1. cmp_doomgiver 2. cmp_enclave 3. um_hammertime 4. um_jawarace 5. mb2_jeditemple 6. stay

Each player has to type vote@ and then the number of the map they want next. (e.g vote@3 for hammertime.) (vote@6 means the map wont change.)

I hope this was clear and I don't think that you can have a rotation AND have rtv enabled.

Sounds like a plan, but just know that we just got the old rotation back. Progress on this idea will take time as the other 'new' rotation killed our population.

Reviving the topic because it's about time we either got a new rotation (which probably has most of the same maps) or the removal and addition of further maps. Plus, I suppose, in addition to having a 'next map' vote, so we don't have to wait for an Admin or the lousy rounds to pass. There's a few we dislike, few we think should be added, and frequently the same maps we aren't keen on tend to come close to killing the server more often than not, such as Tantive. We should really filter the lousy maps. So... Something needs to be done please.

DS isn't OP lol. If the team sucks, either side can lose. Maybe we should revert to the default FA's instead of iPods too?

How is it not unfair though? The only thing it has that Open doesn't, is 2 saberists you couldn't make on Open. All the other classes are playable on Open (except r2/3p0), but if it were 10 vs 10, it would actually just be 10 vs 5. The Imperials get one of the OP saberists, a commander, 4 very strong commanders, and really good soldiers. The Rebels get one OP saberist, one Wookie, three heroes that are actually weaker than you can get on Open, and 2 joke classes, and their soldiers make worse melee soldiers THAN THE STORMTROOPERS >_<.
It's just such a joke level because if you go above 5 on rebs, some one has to play a terrible class, and their heroes really aren't that amazing, not to mention the imps get 4 ET's with wingun 3, frag nade, and another life, essentially they were made to kill the dodge fags.

Just because Rebels are underpowered (more correct than Imperials being overpowered), doesn't mean they can't win, I'm just pointing out that even if you out skill the Imperials, you might not win thanks to frag + burst.
